Steven Adams, Psy.D.

Dr. Adams is a Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of experience. After completing a master's degree at the University of Houston he received his doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Western Seminary in Portland, OR. His internship in clinical psychology was completed at the Minirth-Meier Clinic in Dallas. At the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston he completed a post-doctoral fellowship in clinical child psychology. Dr. Adams practiced as a psychologist for ten years in Houston, Texas prior to moving to Missouri in 1999. Since that time he and his wife, Carolyn, have practiced in southwest Missouri. Services offered by Dr. Adams include psychological testing and psychotherapy with children, teens and adults.



Carolyn Adams, MSW, LCSW

Carolyn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with twenty-one years of experience in providing counseling to children, adolescents and adults using a holistic approach. She completed a master’s degree in clinical social work at the University of Houston. Carolyn specializes in working with children and families, Christian counseling, attachment issues, behavioral issues in children, adoption, parenting, abuse, and women’s issues. She has specialized training in working with children and families using play therapy. Carolyn is also a registered nurse.



Anita Pinson, M.A.

Anita is a Licensed Professional Counselor with eight years of experience. She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Columbia College and her master’s degree in counseling from Webster University. Anita’s internship and most of her practice has been with Cornerstone Counseling. Anita is also a Play Therapist and has been since 2005. Anita offers counseling to all ages with a variety of issues covered.



Ruth Rasmussen, M.A.

Ruth Rasmussen holds provisional licenses in Marriage and Family Therapy and Professional Counseling. She completed her master’s degree in psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy in 2008 with Chapman University and is currently working on her doctorate degree in marriage and family therapy with Northcentral University. Ruth completed an internship at Children’s Village in Yakima, Washington prior to starting at Cornerstone Counseling under the supervision of Dr. Adams in 2010. Ruth previously served on active duty in the Army for seven years and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005. She has been married for 12 years and has three children ages 7, 4, and 1. Ruth provides individual, family, and couple psychotherapy with children, teens, and adults.



Mindy Reinhold, M.A., LPC

Mindy is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over ten years of counseling experience. She completed her Master’s degree from Ball State University. Mindy has a wide array of experience she has gained by working in several diverse settings, including group homes, a crisis center, a Christian counseling clinic, and intensive in-home counseling of children and their families. The last three years Mindy worked with females with eating disorders in an inpatient setting. Mindy especially enjoys providing Christian counseling services for a wide array of issues, including trauma, self-harm, depression, and anxiety.
